We also carry a rack with height adjustable lower legs and upper arms (see left picture) .At its shortest position, the rack platform sits a few inches taller than the standard Dahon rack. If you plan carrying panniers, this is the way to go. You can adjust the legs at max extension to accomodate your pannier. Because of the shorter chainstay lengths of folding bikes, smaller panniers (about 12" in height) works best to avoid heel interference when pedalling. At max extension, the rack upper arms have to be mounted on the seatpost using the quick release adapter we have below.

We get asked often as to what racks are good for touring. For the rear, I still suggest the use of the Arclite racks as shown on the upper left side. Folding bikes in general are designed with shorter chainstays. Use of a trunk bag on the arclite racks will avoid heel interference and keep center of gravity lower.

Adding the front pannier rack as shown above will almost triple your load carrying capacity and add some stability on the front wheel. Use small panniers to avoid scraping the bottom of the bag. You will also need to shorten the bungee hooks that secure panniers to the rack. I usually use zip ties. We also now carry Lone Pear front panniers with upperand lower rackmounts specially mounted closer to each other .

DELTA Rack with Folding Legs

This is a basic alloy rack with foldeable and length adjustable legs. Great for folding and travel bikes. When it comes time to pack the bike into a suitcase, the legs fold giving you more space inside the suitcase. Single or dual arm top mount. Includes hardware.

When mounting on 20" wheeled folding bikes, you may have to improvise and fabricate straps for the upper mount. The flat plates that come with the rack maybe short depending on where the upper mounting screws are on the bike
