Before 2:00 PM, we were having lunch at
Hawi. A slight downpour got us wet but we were dry before
even finishing a burrito lunch. At 2:PM, we headed for Kapau
2 miles away to see the Kamehameha statue. Kamehameha was
the king responsible for uniting all the islands under one
rule.
Tonight's lodging is at the Kohala
Village inn at the cross road of hwy 250 and 270. Hawi is
technically a crossroad town no longer than a block or two.
Absolutely no place to go to at night except for dinner at
the tourist acclaimed Bamboo Restaurant. A bit on the
expensive side but a good treat for today's
climb.
